Dafni Mavrovouniotis-Trimikliniotis

She was born in Limassol, Cyprus 1945. She emigrated to London in 1959, where she lived for 35 years. She studied Art at HORNSEY COLLEGE OF ART, Middlesex University, London.
She developed significant artistic and social activity in London, something she continues in Cyprus with the same zeal and love.
She became well known amongst the Cypriot Community there, through the various activities and exhibitions.
She returned to Cyprus in 1996, and she has been living and working in Limassol.
She has been a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Cyprus, since 1980, and she served on the board of Directors of E.KA.TE at the position of the Treasurer from 2003 – 2006. She has been the president of E.KA.TE since June 2006 where she was re-elected at the same position in June 2009.  She served on various committees and judging panels of various organizations and institutions, for Art competitions and Art matters for many years.
She is a member of the board of directors of the Institute of Kostas Argyrou Museum in Mazotos, and has been appointed to participate as a member of the National committee for the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Republic of Cyprus.
She has had 15 solo exhibitions of her work, in Cyprus, London and Greece, and participated in many group exhibitions. Her paintings are in various private and state collections.
She has established her own personal idiom with her characteristic figurative writing. Without following rules and protocols, she moves with freedom in her own frames and levels, carving her own course.
In her artistic course, Daphne participates in the social and other phenomena of everyday life, which are promoted through the media, or the apparent changes that happen in the social establishment. It is these alterations, which urge the artist to concentrate on expressing and channelling, through her art, her personal opinion and to take a stance in some indirect way through her work, striving to rescue the substance of things, to change the plastic world into something earthy, natural, caring and loving.
